The 3 Stages of Collapse
The machine does not break overnight. Burnout is a predictable descent. It begins with hyperactivity and ends in systemic apathy. Identify which stage you are currently operating in.
Stage 01
Hyper-Arousal"Wired but Tired"
The stress response is permanently engaged. Cortisol and adrenaline levels are peaking. You are highly productive but incredibly reactive, irritable, and emotionally volatile.
- Inability to switch off at night
- Aggressive, rapid decision making
- Waking up exhausted despite sleep
Stage 02
Conservation"The Wall"
The glands are struggling to produce enough stress hormones to maintain the pace. The body forces a slowdown by reducing thyroid function and metabolic energy.
- The severe 3:00 PM cognitive crash
- Reliance on heavy caffeine/sugar
- Procrastination of complex tasks
Stage 03
Exhaustion"The Collapse"
Complete biological depletion. Cortisol output flatlines. Dopamine receptors downregulate. You experience profound apathy, brain fog, and physical sickness.
- Cynicism and detachment from outcomes
- Frequent illness / weakened immunity
- Inability to execute basic routines
